Through the Bread and Pastry Workshop training programs, the project aimed to equip Syrian refugees and members of the host community with both theoretical and practical skills in bread and pastry production, enabling them to acquire a sustainable profession. By developing recipes based on locally grown wheat varieties and producing high-quality bread and pastries made from whole-wheat flour, the project also sought to promote the cultivation and use of local wheat types. Generating sustainable income opportunities for the women involved in the project was a key objective.
Each training cycle began with theoretical instruction delivered at the Public Education Center, followed by hands-on, on-the-job training conducted in the kitchen of Cercis Murat Mansion. Throughout the program, participants received training in bread and pastry production, occupational health and safety, and essential life skills, supporting both their professional development and long-term employability.
