As part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye, a meaningful gathering took place in June 2023 in Berlin, the capital of Germany. Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Berlin, the reception brought together German officials alongside Turkish and German representatives from the business community around a shared table.
The Republic Menu presented at this distinguished event was more than a ceremonial offering; it was conceived as a symbolic gastronomic narrative reflecting the Republic’s values, contemporary vision, and commitment to a shared future. Each dish reinterpreted the Republic’s century-long journey through themes of production, craftsmanship, solidarity, and a culture of coexistence.
The table set in Berlin once again demonstrated gastronomy’s capacity to function as a diplomatic language—strengthening dialogue between societies and fostering lasting connections. Through the Republic Menu, Türkiye’s historical legacy and universal values were conveyed in a refined, powerful, and meaningful manner at one of Europe’s key political and economic centres.
