HUNGARY, BUDAPEST –2024

As part of Turkish Cuisine Week, the refined, nature-driven culinary heritage of the Aegean region was presented in Budapest through an international gastronomic narrative. Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Budapest and led by Ambassador Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu, the events offered a contemporary interpretation of Aegean cuisine by Chef Ebru Baybara Demir.

Menus prepared with local and seasonal ingredients brought the Aegean’s production culture, simplicity, and sustainability-focused philosophy to the table. Each dish was conceived as a story—reflecting respect for the land and the transmission of traditional culinary knowledge through generations, reimagined with a modern perspective.

The tables set in Budapest transformed the regional richness of Turkish cuisine into a universal language, once again highlighting gastronomy as a powerful diplomatic tool capable of building meaningful and lasting connections between cultures.
