Between 12 and 14 January 2023, Ebru Baybara Demir was awarded the Aenne Burda Creative Leadership Award at DLD23 (Digital–Life–Design), a globally recognised conference held in Munich, Germany, bringing together leading thinkers from around the world. The award represented not only an individual achievement, but also international recognition of the powerful connection between gastronomy, social impact, creativity, and leadership.
As part of the DLD programme, a private dinner for a distinguished group of 100 guests was held on the opening evening, featuring a specially curated traditional Turkish cuisine menu. The presentation transformed gastronomy into a cultural expression, blending Anatolia’s ancient culinary knowledge with a contemporary narrative.
For the menu, local ingredients were transported from Mardin, in the fertile lands of Mesopotamia, to Munich. Presented through traditional serving styles, these flavours carried the memory, craftsmanship, and stories of their geography to the table, leaving a lasting impression on all guests.
The table set in Munich once again demonstrated that gastronomy is a universal language one that speaks not only to the palate, but also to creativity, thought leadership, and intercultural dialogue.
